Terms and Conditions of Use and Privacy Policy
The Hotel Council of San Francisco website (the “Site") is a website of the Hotel Council of San Francisco, located at www.hotelcouncilsf.org. Hotel Council of San Francisco does not control, and is not responsible for, any third-party site to which the Site links.
You agree that your use of the Site is subject to the following Terms and Conditions. These Terms and Conditions may be modified at any time and from time to time; the date of the most recent changes or revisions is August 29, 2007. Continued access to the Site by you will constitute your acceptance of any changes or revisions to the Agreement. If you do not agree with the Terms and Conditions, please do not use this Site.

What personal information is collected from me?
Occasionally, visitors to our Site may be asked to supply certain personal information, such as the visitor’s name, postal address, E-mail address, company affiliation, telephone number, facsimile number or credit card information, which is then retained by the Hotel Council of San Francisco. For example, we may ask you for certain information if you subscribe to our E-mail newsletters or notifications, submit an application for membership, or register online for any of our special events.
How does the Hotel Council of San Francisco use the personal information supplied by me?
If you choose to give us personal information, such information will be retained by us and used to provide you with the information or services you have requested, or to provide you with additional information from the Hotel Council of San Francisco about the Hotel Council of San Francisco, its affiliates, or selected outside companies whose products or services we feel may be of use to you. The Hotel Council of San Francisco provides a directory of its hotel members and affiliated members on the Site, and may include the member’s physical address, main phone number, website address and name of the general manager in the directory. The Hotel Council of San Francisco may also provide this information to the other members of the Hotel Council of San Francisco.
What if I no longer wish to receive information from the Hotel Council of San Francisco?
If, at some point after giving the Hotel Council of San Francisco your personal information, you do not wish to continue to receive additional information from the Hotel Council of San Francisco, you may opt out by E-mailing info@hotelcouncilsf.org and put the words "remove my name" in the subject line of your E-mail.
How is my credit card information used when I make a payment through the Site?
When you register online for a special event, we ask you to provide your credit card information so that we can process your payment. During the payment process, such credit card information is transmitted to the Hotel Council of San Francisco and to third-party credit card processors and card issuers that must use your information to process your payment.
How is my personal information protected?
The Hotel Council of San Francisco maintains physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect your personal information. For example, we use industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (“SSL”) authentication to ensure the confidentiality of online transactions made on our site. SSL authentication and encryption of the information that you send to us over the Internet help protect your online transaction information from third party interception.
Unfortunately, despite all of our efforts, there is always a risk that third parties may unlawfully intercept transmissions. As a result, we cannot ensure the security of any information you transmit, and you transmit all information at your own risk.
