Last year, the Penny Pitch raised more than $70,000 ? through the Penny Pitch competition, raffle, and silent auction ? to support this remarkable organization. Through twelve different programs, St. Anthony?s provides food, clothing, housing, and the healing of body & spirit to the less fortunate. This year?s event will be on Monday, May 28 at 12PM and will be held at Moose?s Restaurant, 1652 Stockton Street in San Francisco. She also serves as the Deputy Secretary four Tourism under the California Business, Transportation and Housing Agency. Caroline is responsible for implementing the CTTC's $50 million marketing plan and serving as the lead spokesperson for California's $93.8 billion tourism industry. A veteran journalist, Tom's expertise is wide ranging and extends far beyond the ability to advise viewers about scams, recalls, product safety and advertising issues. He also regularly reports on disasters, disaster preparedness, aerospace, aviation, science, technology and business. Vacar has won more than 40 major journalism awards including five Emmys, five Golden Mikes, the American Bar Association's Silver Gavel Award and the Society of Professional Journalists Medal for Distinguished Public Service for his landmark work on insurance reform. Most experts agree this led to the California insurance revolt back in 1988. Vacar has given hundreds of speeches throughout the Bay Area and across the country to professional, business, industry, civic and governmental groups on a wide range of topics.
